The forthcoming British election is not international front-page news. Nevertheless, there are plenty of good reasons why Americans, especially, should care about the outcome on May 6. After 13 years of a center-left British Government, and at a time when, as The Economist concludes, “the State has grown, personal freedom has shrunk, and it is not clear that people are much the better for it,” that outcome remains surprisingly, even increasingly, uncertain.
